FABULOUS PHOTO IDEA: THE ENGAGEMENT GUESTBOOK02.20.12

posted in Engagements, Wedding Planning Resources, Weddings

So, I’m all about the creative, different, and unconventional.  I’m a Pinterest fanatic, and I am totally guilty of Etsy browsing AND shopping.  A simple search online will give you a million and one ways to preserve special messages and notes from guests at your wedding.  If you’re a photo lover (I am!  Who knew?), you will probably adore this idea…and as it turns out, it’s something we can do for you: the engagement guestbook.

You’ve taken super creative, totally beautiful engagement photos with us, you’ve printed your favorites…but the rest are still sitting on your disc.  What about the other great images?  Instead of using a traditional lined sign-in book where your guests might only leave their name and hometown, why not have us design a guestbook using your favorite engagement photos with white space on each page for guests to write messages of advice and best wishes?  A traditional lined guestbook is one you might tuck away in storage shortly following the wedding, but a leather bound flushmount engagement guestbook is something you can display in your home and look at often to remember the warmth and support of your friends and family.  Oh, and to totally show off your amazing engagement photos.  ;)

The engagement guestbook is available in square sizes (8×8, 10×10) and in unique rectangular sizes (9×14, 12.5×5) and a variety of leathers.  Gold or silver lettering can be imprinted on the spine (so elegant) to include your names, your wedding date, or simply “guestbook.”  Linen paper means any pen can be used with no risk of smudges. The sample guestbook featured in this blog post is an 8×8 with 20-sides.  And features some of our faves, Heather & Ryan, who are planning a May 2013 wedding.  Their Newport/Cape Carteret/Emerald Isle (yes, 3 locations!!  Love!) engagement session can be seen HERE.  Email us at cindy@cynthiarosephotography.com for more information about our engagement guestbooks…or to see if we are available for your wedding date!

Victor and I are the proud new human parents of two 11 week old dachshund/basset hound littermates. We have been taking care of my sister’s adorable mini dachshund, Vienna, since October and have absolutely fallen in love with the dachshund breed.  Vienna will eventually have to go back to live with my sister and we definitely felt the need to bring our own pup into our life!  The power of a precious photo prevailed when I saw the photo of our two pups on PetFinder.com.  The “awwwwwws” and “oh my gosh how CUUUTE!!” led to the long drive to the no-kill shelter in Clarksville, VA where they were born to a dachshund mommy and basset hound daddy.  In case you were wondering, Copper was named after the basset hound in the Disney movie Fox and the Hound while Mayberry was named after one of my favorite Rascal Flatts songs.  You know the one.  ;)

They are now not only companions, but they have a very important job at their new home:  MODELING.  Enjoy some of their very first portraits (and expect more to come!).
