If you could pick one moment that stands out to you as the best on your wedding day, what would it be? Dancing the night away with our family and friends to the Band of Oz! Oh yeah, and that amazing sunset with the rainbow!

During your wedding planning, what was your vision for your wedding day? We had one goal, to have FUN with our own twist. We made sure all ages were welcome and had things to do to keep them entertained. From casual BBQ dinners to more formal rehearsal dinners we tried to add our own touch on everything.

Describe any special traditions, personal mementos, or helpful friends/family members who played a sentimental role in your wedding planning or wedding day. My 95 year old Grandaddy gave the blessing at the rehearsal dinner as well as the reception. It was such an honor to have him play such an important role. My mom was by my side for EVERY event during wedding planning and it only brought us closer together as mother/daughter and best friends. We were married on my parents' anniversary and within a week of Kirk's parents' anniversary, so it was extra fun celebrating them as well!

What made you choose your venue(s) for your wedding day? We wanted a beach wedding and spending so much time on the Crystal Coast, it was only fitting to have the wedding in Morehead City. While it is a good drive from where we live in Charlotte, every weekend trip made while planning made the actual wedding weekend that much better! My parents were a huge help also, living in MHC, with wedding planning and meeting with vendors when we were unable to make it.

What was your First Dance song? Is there a special story behind it? We danced to "With This Ring" by the Platters. Not only is it one of our favorite beach music songs, but my parents actually danced to that song on THEIR wedding night 33 years prior!

What was one wedding planning decision that proved invaluable? Be organized, and do as much as you can throughout the year. As a Type A organized person anyways, having a binder with all wedding details and MANY Excel spreadsheets proved invaluable. Any weekend we had the months leading up to the wedding we tried to knock out a task, whether it be stuffing hotel bags, wrapping gifts, etc. It was also the most fun spending time with our family members and each other pulling the little details together!
