From the bride & groom:

If you could pick one moment that stands out to you as the best on your wedding day, what would it be?
Jason - "For me it was standing at the altar and seeing Christina in her dress for the first time."
Christina - "I would have to say it was our awesome first dance. Ha! We didn't take dance lessons and Jason kept stepping on my dress. We just laughed the whole time."

During your wedding planning, what was your vision for your wedding day? For our wedding, we really just wanted to have a small gathering of our closest family/friends at a beautiful venue and to have lots of fun things to do during the reception. Our guests had a blast playing cornhole, goofing around in the photo booth, enjoying the beautiful view of sunset over the water, and watching the artist from WedOnCanvas put the finishing touches on our painting of the ceremony.

Describe any special traditions, personal mementos, or helpful friends/family members who played a sentimental role in your wedding planning or wedding day. I think one of the coolest things was being able to have friends/family from all over the country/world in attendance on our special day. Having them there to celebrate with us made it a day we will always remember.

What made you choose your venue(s) for your wedding day? We picked the Latham Garden at Tryon Palace because of its uniqueness. Originally, we wanted a plantation wedding but once Christina toured the palace, she fell in love with the garden setting.

What was your First Dance song? Is there a special story behind it? Dave Matthews Band- "You & Me" was our First Dance song. We honestly had another song picked out up until the night before our wedding day. Ha! We practiced dancing to it and realized the tempo was too fast for us. Jason texted our DJ during golf the day of and had to changed to the DMB song. "You & Me" turned out to be the right choice.

What was one wedding planning decision that proved invaluable? (For example: Hiring a coordinator? A vendor who was particularly helpful? Having a checklist? Making a budget?) Wow, this is a tough one. So much goes into planning a wedding that you don't realize until you're chest deep in it. We had the privilege to work with some seriously talented individuals during the process. I don't think we can narrow it down to one decision so we are going to pick two. First, I think having Cynthia Rose as our photographers was crucial. You guys were able to catch all the special moments during our big day that we may have otherwise missed. We have the most amazing pictures that will last us a lifetime. Christina and I really cannot thank you enough. Second, Mike and Kathy at Southern Hospitality Concierge Service made things so less stressful from day one all the way up to our wedding day. Everything was coordinated perfectly.
