Last Saturday we spent the evening walking along the historic streets of Beaufort, North Carolina with Ashley & Will, finding pretty little spots to stop and create gorgeous engagement photos. We couldn't have asked for a better day or a sweeter couple!
Read their engagement story, in their own words:
How did you meet? We met through a mutual friend in high school, but really did not become friends until college. We carpooled to the local community college and that is when we became best friends. Not too long after we became best friends, we noticed we really loved being around each other and really liked one another. We started dating on May 28th, 2009.
Tell us your proposal story! We went to Fernandina Beach, FL to celebrate the anniversary and renewing of vows for Will's aunt and uncle. The night before the vow ceremony, we went out to the downtown waterfront area of Fernandina and enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner at the Marina Restaurant and some ice cream for dessert with family. Will kept throwing me off by making pretend plans to watch a movie with his cousins. Instead, we went back to the vacation condo where Will's family was staying and took a moonlit walk on the beach. The night sky was beautiful and as we saw some some writing in the sand with the words "Marry me?," I still had no idea it was Will proposing and actually thought someone else had proposed earlier. It was not until after Will got down on his knee, pulled out the ring and proposed that I realized what was happening. I was speechless for a second and excitedly said YES!
What has been your favorite part of being engaged? Everything is so real, especially the love we have for one another. Our love for one another feels like it's growing so much more than we could ever have imagined! We feel impatience for the wedding to come, but enjoy the anticipation we feel everyday that we get to spend the rest of our lives together. We both love that we are each other's best friend and that we get to spend the rest of our lives married to our best friend!
